Oltre La Classe A: A Smart Building at MCE 2016

Milan, 15-18 March 2016 –Amongst the rich programme proposed at MCE - MOSTRA CONVEGNO EXPOCOMFORT, the world’s leading exhibition dedicated to residential and industrial installations, HVAC, and renewable energies, is Oltre la Classe A, the special event area, set up in Hall 2, where a shortlist of up to 35 groundbreaking plant solutions selected by MCE Scientific Committee, chaired by a representative of the Politecnico di Milano, Department of Architecture, Built Environment, and Construction Engineering will be on display among the 66 products admitted to Percorso Efficienza & Innovazione.

Oltre la Classe A, changes its look for this edition: it has actually been built a smart building in full-scale to figure out a new way of home which is just around the corner. The objective of this new initiative is to offer, in the best tradition of MCE, a unique opportunity to see in real time how the evolution of technology can manage the building energy demand to ensure maximum performance and save energy of heating, cooling, ventilation, sanitary hot water installation systems as well as the control of all technologies solutions that provide a new way of living under the banner of integration of three concepts efficiency, sustainability and automation.

In this edition Oltre la Classe A presents a full-scale model of residential building, an office building, a small parking for electric cars complete with a rechargeable column and a square. The components of “building automation”, control units and panels, sensors and actuators, will be installed in the same building that will become the example of how buildings will be like in the future. The building will turn out to be an important part of the city, integrated in the Smart City that will host it. Oltre la Classe A will feature specific events of communication conducted by experts from the Politecnico di Milano who will explain visitors how an intelligent building works, as a real machine for living in it.
