ASHRAE continues to expand its collaborations with the signing of yet another memorandum of understanding (MoU), this time with the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
The MoU signed by ASHRAE president Sheila J Hayter and AIA president William J Bates defines parameters on how the two societies will collaborate more closely to continue promoting the advancements of a more sustainable built environment.
Areas of potential collaboration include general advocacy, research, technical committee coordination, joint conferences and meetings, young professionals’ development, training and education programmes, publication distribution, community service and diversity and inclusion.
This is the fourth such agreement signed by ASHRAE in the last few weeks. These include MOUs with the International District Energy Association (IDEA), the US Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) and the New Buildings Institute (NBI), a US-based non-profit organisation driving better energy performance in commercial buildings.
