BELGIUM: The European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating & Cooling (RHC-ETIP) has selected the TripleAqua propane heat pump as most innovative project.

Developed by Beijer Ref subsidiary Uniechemie, and launched at last year’s Chillventa, the TripleAqua uses three water pipes and can store surplus warm or cold energy internally for reuse later. It also does away with the traditional 4-way valve, operating efficiently in the optimised efficient counter-flow modes, both in cooling as well as in heating mode.

TripleAqua has now won the possibility to present its achievements during the event Innovation in the Renewable Heating and Cooling sector at the European Sustainable Energy Week, which will take place on 21 June 2017 at the Résidence Palace in Brussels. During the session TripleAqua’s head of research and development Menno van der Hoff will highlight the the main features of the TriepleAqua and discuss the way forward for the renewable heating and cooling sector.

The RHC-ETIP brings together stakeholders from the biomass, geothermal, solar thermal and heat pump sectors to define a common strategy for increasing the use of renewable energy technologies for heating and cooling.

TripleAqua has previously been awarded withe the Cooling Trophy by the Dutch refrigeration association NVKL in 2016 and most recently during the 12th IEA Heat Pump Conference in May with the NL Eneco innovation award.
