Mestek Machinery Inc. will now make and sell the Vanemaker and Railmaker formerly made and sold by Harper Metal Products of San Bruno, California.
The sheet metal forming equipment is used to produce double-wall air-turning vane and push-style rail used in fabricating rectangular ductwork. The equipment will be sold under the Lockformer brand as "Harper-type" machines and manufactured at Mestek’s Cleveland facility. Replacement parts for existing Harper machines will continue to be available.
Other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Jack Pennuto Jr., vice president of Mestek Machinery, said he was excited to bring the products to Mestek’s portfolio.
“Having common dealers and serving the same customers, Harper’s products are a great compliment to Mestek Machinery,” Pennuto said. “Meeting Bob Harper, it was great to learn the history of the product and that Harper Metal Products’ share a common origin with some of Mestek Machinery’s existing products, including the Roto-Die hydraulic bender and Lockformer Speednotch. It will be a great compliment to Mestek Machinery.”
