The Institute of Refrigeration is calling for nominations for the J&E Hall International Gold Medal. Now in its 39th year, this international award is given in recognition of outstanding technical achievements in refrigeration and related fields.
The institute says the award is open to individuals or teams with recent outstanding achievements in one or more of the following areas:
• Practical applications of innovative designs
• Projects which have made an original contribution to the field
• Systems which demonstrate substantial potential and evidence that they will be completed successfully
• Outstanding and significant work in a new or unusual area
The award is designed to encourage progress rather than acknowledge past achievement and the winner will join a select list of recipients that includes other refrigeration experts such as Prof. Gustav Lorentzen, Prof. P. Ole Fanger, Prof. Don Cleland, Mr. Ron Conry, and Prof. Pega Hrnjak.
The presentation will take place at the 117th Institute of Refrigeration Annual Dinner in London, and the winner will receive a gold medal to hold for one year, a silver replica to keep, and a cash award of £5,000.
Information about the award and a nomination pack is available at www.ior.org.uk/awards or email lisa@ior.org.uk. All nominations must include a contact address, email address, and a few words about the nature of the achievement of the nominee. Nominations are requested by Oct. 15, 2016.
