EUROPE: Panasonic has released a new mono bloc heat pump running on the lower GWP refrigerant R32.

The T-CAP Mono-bloc J Generation system expands Panasonic’s Aquarea air-to-water heat pump range and is available in available in single-phase capacities of 9kW and 12kW, with three-phase in 9kW, 12kW and 16kW coming later in the year.

As a mono-bloc system with a single unit outdoors, the T-CAP Mono-bloc R32 is particularly suited  to projects where indoor space is limited. R32 refrigerant is sealed into the outdoor unit and therefore no refrigerant connections are required indoors, further simplifying installation.

Employing Panasonic’s dual-piped heat exchanger technology the T-CAP is said to be able to maintain heating capacity even in low outdoor temperatures down to -20ºC.

A single system to heat and cool the home and produce hot water, the T-CAP is said to be particularly suitable for retrofit projects, as it can easily replace traditional gas or oil boilers and can be simply connected to new underfloor heating, radiators, or fan coil units.

The range boasts high energy efficiency, being rated A+++ at 35ºC and A++ at 55ºC. It also has an improved SCOP and cooling capacity.  It can also work under higher pressure and reach a 65ºC water flow temperature for the ultimate high performing unit, says Panasonic.

Additionally, the system incorporates a magnetic filter to remove damaging metal dust and sludge, preventing pump failure, and enabling easy maintenance, as well as prolonging the life of the system and its energy efficiency performance.

The system is also compatible with the Aquarea Smart Cloud for end-users to remotely control the full range of heating and cooling functions, including monitoring energy consumption for both energy and cost-saving possibilities.

Furthermore, with Aquarea Smart Cloud, users can use the smart technology programme IFTTT. It can also be connected to the Aquarea Service Cloud to make remote access simple.
