CHINA: Midea’s new All Easy Series residential split system air conditioner using propane refrigerant has been awarded a Blue Angel certificate for its environmentally friendly features.
The new air conditioner series, which was launched at last week’s Mostra Convegno in Milan, was praised for its ultra-low GWP, high energy efficiency, low noise, and stringent material safety control. The result is said to be a mass-producible, efficient and reliable solution for the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol.
The Blue Angel Certification is owned by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety. The world’s oldest ecolabel, it represents the highest standards for energy efficiency, health and environment-friendliness of home appliances.
The Midea team is said to have spent nine years solving the technical problems and develop core components, including the R290 compressor, the heat exchanger, and the electronic expansion valve and formed the unique flow routes, variable frequency electrical control and safety protection schemes. Two sizes are currently available – 2.6kW and 3.5kW.
The Midea R290 product had obtained over 200 domestic and international patents prior to this latest award.
