BELGIUM: European air conditioning and refrigeration contractors group AREA is to sponsor this year’s European RACHP competitors at WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi.
The WorldSkills competition, which takes place from October 15-18, sees competitors from 77 countries competing in 51 skill competitions. The refrigeration and air conditioning competition will see 23 young men and women representing their countries in the hunt for the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
Competitors are tested on their air conditioning and refrigeration skills through a series of stand alone modules. These tests include brazing, equipment knowledge, installation, commissioning and adjustment, fault finding and component replacement.
The European competitors are Tim Schuster (Germany), Robin Smets (Netherlands), Olve Lyngstad Skjaerve (Norway), George Emanuel Budeanu (Spain) and Bruno Daniel Goncalves Dias (Portugal). Each will receive €250 sponsorship from AREA.
Other countries represented are Iran, Colombia, UAE, Korea, Thailand, South Africa, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Norway, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Russia, Malaysia, Japan, Chinese Taipei, China and the USA.
