As a platform of product showcase and technology innovation, a number of A/C manufacturers promoted their new air conditioners using R32 as refrigerant, which attracted more visitors. What did it indicate?

We noticed that Hisense, Daikin, Gree and many other AC manufacturers displayed R32 air conditioners in a noticeable position.

Then, what’s the benefit of R32? Why so many manufacturers choose R32 as the refrigerant?

Although there are various types of refrigerants, R32 is a new refrigerant currently receiving the most interest.

Because R32 efficiently conveys heat, it can reduce electricity consumption up to approximately 10% compared to that of air conditioners using refrigerant R22. Furthermore, compared to the refrigerants widely used today such as R22 and R410A, R32 has a global warming potential (GWP) that is one-third lower and is remarkable for its low environmental impact.

A manager from Daikin Spain said, as early as Nov 2012, Daikin had released the air conditioner using R32. Daikin is the world’s first company to succeed in applying R32 to air conditioners by leveraging its expertise as the only manufacturer that develops and manufactures both air conditioners and refrigerants. Now its main markets are Japan, India, Russia and Spain. That’s why Daikin showcased R32 air conditioner on C&R 2017.

According to Montreal Protocol, developed countries and developing countries will have an overall ban of R22 in 2020 and 2030 respectively. New environment-friendly refrigerant is of great importance to the whole HVACR industry. R32 air conditioner emerging in the C&R this year indicates that AC manufacturers are making their efforts in energy conservation and environment protection.
