Phenolic Resin
Test Method and Performance Index
1 Objective: to detect the properties of Phenolic resin, and to provide basis for the following production.
2 Scope: apply to the company's production of phenolic resin (assembly line resin, foam resin, glass fiber reinforced plastic resin, floral foam resin) detection.
3 Equipment preparation: mercury thermometer and rotary viscometer, analytical balance, electronic balance, dryer, constant temperature oven, stopwatch, pH test paper, mixer, rubber hardness meter.
4 Inspection content:
4.1 Daily verification of the original records of the production of the original record and no paper recorder is consistent with the corresponding synthetic work instructions to meet;
4.2 Within 12-48 hours after discharge of the resin, the product should detect the resin.
5 Inspection items, inspection methods and criteria:
5.1 Assembly line resin:
5.1.1. Appearance: dark brown viscous liquid (visual)
5.1.2. Viscosity: class l: 2000-4000 cp25 DEG C; class 2: 1500-1999CP25 DEG C or 4001-4500 cp25 DEG C; not qualified: < 1500cp25 DEG C or > 4500cp25 DEG C (viscometer)
5.1.3. Solid Content :class 1 75.00-80.00%; class 2: 74.5%-74.99 or 80.01-84.00; unqualified: < 74.5% or > 84.00%.
A) Clean the metal plate to mark, put in 120 degrees Celsius in the oven drying 30min, removes and then put into the airtight dryer after cooling to room temperature. After weighing the metal plate weight on the balance (M1) accurate to 0.0001g
B) Weighed about 2 g resin in a metal tray, quickly put in electronic weighing scales (M2) accurate to 0.0001 G
C)Remove the metal plate with resin, put in a 120 degree oven for two hours, remove and put into the dryer after cooling 2min, into the electronic balance weighing (M3) accurate to 0.0001 G
D) Test results: the calculation results of solid content to take three effective numbers, with three parallel samples of the arithmetic mean value, the experimental results of the relative error is not more than 2%.

5.1.4. Resin active temperature: (at room temperature in the range of 25 degrees C) level: 90 -118 C; two: 80 C -89.9 C or 118.5 C -125.0 C; not qualified: "80" or "125".
(Note: the resin activity is subtracted from the value of 2 degrees C by 70%.
Accurate take resin 25g, placed in 50 ml disposable cups to a constant temperature of 25 DEG C, adding 3.0 ml of curing agent (70% methyl sulfonic acid), range 0 DEG C to 150 DEG C thermometer after sufficient mixing, mercury thermometer bulb inserted in the middle of the material, the resin measuring Peak Exothermic Temperature, namely the activity of the resin, with unit C.
5.1.5. Starting time; curing time:
Foaming experiments that curing agent added after start time, fully stirring time 15-20S, into the oven free foaming, when resin to 2 cm of the time for the starting time; when the foaming time up to 10 minutes, start to measure hardness by durometer, hardness value to between 30-50 time for curing time. (if the hardness is lower than 30 should then close the oven door to curing.)
Foaming method: in the foam cup weigh Phenolic resin, emulsifier, foaming agent, with an electric mixer stir, adding curing agent, stirring and start to timing. After mixing evenly into the thickness is 2cm iron parallel fixed position of aluminum foil into 70 DEG C oven free foaming.
5.1.6. Mobility:
Foam with a thickness of 2cm iron strip parallel fixed position (spacing 20cm), the area of the bubble body above 450cm2 for a class; the body area of B for the 200-450cm2 class; bubble body area 200cm2 the following is C level.
5.1.7. Core material quality:
A level: Core material is delicate, either side (area 40cm2) allows a 1-3 diameter less than 1mm air holes, aluminum foil real pressure surface can not have an area of more than 1.0cm2 concave holes, the surface allows a small amount of less than 1mm diameter pores.
B level: the core material is delicate either side (area 40cm2) allows a 1-5 diameter less than 2mm air holes, aluminum foil real pressure surface can not have an area of more than 3.0cm2 concave holes, the surface allows a small amount of less than 2mm diameter pores.
Note: the measurement value in the range of 5.1.1 ~ 5.1.5 index, and 5.1.6 and 5.1.7 items are a grade A
For the first grade products; measurement value is 1 to 2 items not in the range of 5.1.1 ~ 5.1.5 indicators, or 5.1.6 and 5.1.7 items are B grade of two products.
5.1.8 The following circumstances determine the resin as a non -qualified product
A) Blister thicker or harder
B) When the thickness of the foam can not be sent to 2cm.
(C) The bubble is crisp or through hole (porosity is greater than 5mm)
D) Resin containing solid particles and impurities
E) Measured values are 3 or more than 3 items not in the range of 5.1.1 ~ 5.1.5 Indicators, or 5.1.6 items for the C grade resin.
Note: pipeline synthetic resin shall be cooling to 25 DEG to production use, storage period is 10 days (i.e. synthetic discharge after 10 days to be run out), if failed to end the use of resin in 10 days, viscosity will be increased to 8000CP above 25 degrees and activity will decline below 80 DEG C is not conducive to the production and operation, easy to cause the abnormal production.
5.2 Foaming resin
5.2.1 Appearance: Amber transparent viscous liquid (visual)
5.2.2 The viscosity of 5.2.2.: A: 1800--4500 CP25 C; unqualified: "1800 CP25" 4500CP25 (with C or C viscometer)
5.2.3 Solid content: first grade: 81% - 75%; unqualified: < 74% or > 83% (method with the line resin)
5.2.4 Temperature (room temperature of 25 DEG C range: a level: 60.0 - 95.0 DEG C; unqualified: "60.0 DEG C or" 1.2 DEG C); time: the curing time: foaming experiments begin when the curing agent is added, fully stirring 15-20S, pour foaming mould is put into the oven at free foaming resin to 2 cm time to time; when the foam is full and fixed temperature thermometer bulbs, measure the resin Peak Exothermic Temperature, is the resin activity, the unit for DEG C; when the foam hardness of 45 when the time for curing time. (If the hardness is lower than 30 should shut the oven door to curing.
Foaming method: in the foam cup, said the Phenolic resin, emulsifier, foaming agent, after mixing evenly, adding 2 curing agent for mixing and start time.
Evenly pour into the foam box and place it in a 70 degree oven.
5.2.5 Mobility:
Foam when the bubble volume in the 0.005m3 above for a class, if less than B for the 0.005m3 class.
5.2.6 Core material quality:
A grade: core material can not be delicate with pores
B level: core material allows the side (area 150cm2) allows a 1-3 diameter less than 1mm
5.2.7 The following conditions determine the resin is not qualified:
A) Blister or more brittle
B) Foam can not afford to
C) Vesicles have a through hole or pore density
D) Resin containing solid particles and impurities
E) Detection index out of control range
Note: before the foaming resin production must be cooled to 25 DEG C (general synthetic resin shall be 12 hours after placement to carry out the production of foam), storage period should not exceed 10 days or viscosity will increase is not conducive to the production and operation, easy to cause the abnormal production.
5.3 Glass fiber reinforced plastic resin
5.3.1. Appearance: dark brown viscous liquid (visual)
5.3.2. Viscosity: CP 100--200 25 C (no dehydration)
800--1000 25 C CP (dehydration) (with viscometer)
5.3.3. Solid content: 72 - 80% (Reference) (method with the assembly line resin)
Storage method: 20 degrees below the dark sealed storage, shelf life of three months.
5.4 Floral foam resin
5.4.1. Appearance: Amber transparent viscous liquid (visual)
The viscosity of 5.4.2.: 3000--7000 CP 25 C (with viscometer)
5.4.3. Solid content: 80 - 82% (method with the assembly line resin)
