HVAC Aluminum foil tape have been used as air leak seaming, heat resistance and great flexibility when wrapping in tight spaces. The acrylic adhesive doesn’t seem to give out under hot or cold conditions whereas regular fibre woven duct tape is crap in the cold and seems to shrink after a few years and peel leaving a powder film. So do it right, do it once. Use the good range hood foil tape especially in hard to reach places. The aluminum foil tape range hood use is more like thin backing aluminium foil with a peel away release paper liner.

Aluminum foil tape range hood vent is a high strength aluminum foil tape coated with an aggressive, high temperature, acrylic adhesive system. The range hood foil tape conforms well to both fibrous and sheet metal ducts, providing an excellent vapor seal. The malleable foil tape also conforms well around corners and to irregular surfaces. Coated with a special cold weather acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive system which combines superior quick stick at normal temperatures, as well as superior low temperature (below freezing) performance, this is the ultimate in cold weather HVAC foil tapes. AC Tape will be good aging stability, high resistance to UV, ozone and humidity, best useful in long-term, outdoor applications.
Use HVAC Aluminum duct tape to seal the vent.
When installing your range hood, it’s important to ensure that all the connections are airtight. Range hoods vent cooking exhaust from your kitchen and move its air outside your home. To run at max efficiency, the air must stay inside the ductwork until it reaches the outside of your home. If your greasy kitchen air leaks back into your home, then your range hood isn’t doing its job. If the leak is significant enough, it will feel like you don’t have a range hood at all. But, we want you to have a range hood that runs as efficiently as possible.
When installing your hood, apply HVAC aluminum foil tape to the entire outside of the range hood duct. If air leaks, apply a second piece of HVAC Aluminum foil tape.
If air leaks from your range hood during the test, apply a second layer of Aluminum foil duct tape. Attach a second layer of tape a little higher than the first one. It should overlap with the top edge of your first layer of tape to secure it in place.
Or if you’re not confident in the first layer of HVAC aluminum tape, just apply a second layer. A year or two down the line, it might save you some time on repairs. There’s not a downside to adding more tape to seal the vent tightly.
Aluminum backing provides excellent reflection of both heat and light.
High quality adhesive with super strong adhesion and holding power offers reliable and durable Foil-Scrim-Kraft Facing joints and seams sealing in HVAC ductwork application.
Low moisture vapor transmission rate makes AFA2255 an excellent vapor barrier.
Service Temperature range from -30℃ to +150℃.
