FAQ
1: What is the difference between an air-cooled and a water-cooled ice maker?
A: A water cooled model ice maker uses one incoming water line to make the ice and another incoming line to keep the compressor cool. An air cooled model uses the ambient temperature in the room to keep the compressor cool. The higher the ambient temperature the lower the production of ice making.
2: Why is there differing production capabilities listed for the same model ice makers?
A: The true production of any ice maker is listed at what it can produce at 70 degree air and 50 degree water. That is why the production amounts will differ. As the temperature goes up the actual production amount will go do down. Each ice maker specification sheet will show you the different production capacities based on differing temperature ranges.
3: Should I purchase additional ice storage bin?
We supply ice bin together with cube ice machines. The compact type of cube ice machine have an incorporated ice bin inside the machine, while the modular type cube ice machine equips a separate ice storage bin. Normally the ice bin can store 50–70% of full daily production. However, if you need to store the ice for a timely delivery, such as fast food store, then an extra ice bin is suggested.
4: Do I need a water filter?
A water filter not only improves taste and removes odors; it also removes sediment, controls calcium and high scale buildup which can lead to a malfunctioning ice machine. While in areas where water quality is not qualified for drinking, a water (RO) purifier might be suggested as well to ensure sanitation of ice.
