At the end of October, the meeting of the working group of air -conditioning technology lecturers took place at the Viessmann company headquarters in Allendorf (Eder). 20 professors came together and took the opportunity to intensively exchange ideas on urgent topics, such as the energy transition in general or the implementation of air-conditioning technology requirements in particular. The working group of lecturers for air-conditioning technology is made up of professors who are involved both in the training of young TGA engineers (technical building equipment) at German colleges and universities and in dealing with current issues and research projects in the field of air-conditioning technology. In particular, this involves the teaching areas of ventilation and air conditioning technology and thermal building and system simulation.
The aim of the meeting was to offer professors at Viessmann an opportunity to transfer knowledge among themselves and to exchange ideas on the important topic of cooperation between industry and teaching. The focus was primarily on technical solutions for heat pumps and ventilation systems, as well as emerging adaptations in the field of standardization and people management. Of course, against the background of the current global climate and energy situation, all topics were considered with regard to the energy transition. For example, the guests were particularly interested in Viessmann's Active Transition, i.e. the conversion of the product portfolio to heat pumps and other systems for the use of renewable energies.
It was therefore a good thing that a comprehensive tour of the company was also on the agenda. In addition to the Via Temporis company museum, the highly modern and energy-efficient production facility and the sound laboratory were also visited. The meeting was prepared and held by Viessmann's ViAir business unit.
