Global refrigeration technology provider, Embraco, has announced the Asia Pacific launch of its NEX compressors platform – the fourth generation following the NE, NEK and NEU families.
One of the main features for the new NEX platform is the increase in the platform maximum displacement from 18.7cc to 21cc, delivering a maximum cooling capacity of up to 1620W in MBP conditions.
The expanded cooling capacity means that it can replace compressors on the NT platform for some applications, while keeping a lower profile, being 25mm shorter. It also delivers models with up to 10 per cent more energy efficiency as compared to previous versions while keeping the lowest noise levels in the market, says Embraco.
This platform will be available for heavy-duty applications in lower GWP refrigerant options such as R290 but also in R404A.
“It is a solution for food retail and food service, in applications such as display cases, ice makers, kitchen reach ins and beverage coolers, due to its robustness and high cooling capacity on a reliable NE platform, which are the recognized attributes of the Embraco brand”, says Esequias Pereira, Sales and Marketing Director at Nidec Global Appliance, responsible for Embraco’s commercial products portfolio in the Asia Pacific region.
Combined with the NTX, NJX and EHX, the NEX completes the X Generation of Embraco compressors. Along with the release of the NEX – which is in the midi category of compressors – Embraco also launched two new models of the NJX and four of the NTX, both platforms in the large category and in the market since 2019.
According to the company, the X Generation works on natural refrigerant R290 (propane) offering sustainable solutions, with zero ozone depletion potential and negligible GWP.
Since 1971, Embraco has been a global provider of refrigeration technology for the complete domestic and commercial cold chain. It is part of Nidec Global Appliance, a division of Nidec Corporation.
