Cognizant of its environmental stewardship and responsibility, Kaltra advances with low global warming potential solutions for chillers, now releasing R454b versions of its scroll compressor-based models.
Both Ultracompact II and Lightstream Scroll II chillers are now available with refrigerant R454b – a refrigerant with GWP value as low as 467, 75% lower compared to R410a.
With GWP that falls below 500, this is a 2030-ready solution and best available choice for operating cost and environmental impact. Carbon emission for new models is also reduced drastically by more than 70 percent.
R454b, an A2L flammability-class mixture of refrigerants R32 and R1234yf, features low burning velocity compared to R32 while providing operating performance that closely matches R410a.
Ultracompact II models running on R454b cover cooling capacity range from 50 to 300kW, and offers excellent performance in normal and high ambient conditions. Lightstream Scroll II chillers span wider with the capacity ranging from 300 to 1100 kilowatt cooling.
Falling-film evaporators and microchannel condensers enable more efficient heat transfer and permit operation with close approach temperatures for new chillers, providing remarkable lower life-cycle costs.
The R454b chillers are available in four noise attenuation versions that makes them a comfortable solution for urban zones, hospitals, hotels, public institutions, educational premises, residential buildings, and more. A wide range of accessories and options, such as factory packaged pumps, free cooling systems, a set of waterside ancillaries, make new chillers a true plug-and-play solution. Kaltra also offers comprehensive service plans and extended warranty to meet the needs of our customers – for all models of its low-GWP chillers.
