USA: Emerson has launched versions of its Copeland M-Line condensing units for use with propane (R290) refrigerant.
Using its latest Copeland ASE R290 hermetic compressors, the new units meet the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) mandate for a 30-50% energy reduction for reach-in units.
In addition, it meets the EPA plans to begin phasing out commonly used HFCs in 2019. The newest models of the M-Line condensing unit platform are not only designed to significantly increase R290 efficiencies, they are also designed to deliver energy improvements of up to 30%.
“Emerson continues to focus its efforts on solutions that help our customers make the transition to DOE- and EPA-compliant technology,” said Allen Wicher, foodservice director of marketing, Emerson’s commercial and residential solutions platform. “This new solution offers optimal performance in low- and medium-temperature refrigeration applications and is designed with OEM and end user concerns in mind that go beyond meeting the DOE and EPA mandates such as capacity equivalence and same or reduced footprint.”
The M-Line condensing unit is said to be quiet in operation and offers an optional electronic unit controller. Additional claimed benefits include: quick and easy setup; improved set-point accuracy, troubleshooting and diagnostics; and additional system safeguards to help end users and contractors improve usability and serviceability.
