JAPAN: Mitsubishi Electric Corporation is to build a 40,000m² air conditioning factory in Turkey.
The company, called Mitsubishi Electric Turkey Klima Sistemleri Üretim Anonim Şirketi, is scheduled to begin production in January 2018 from a site in Manisa.
With demand for room air conditioners in Turkey and neighboring Balkan countries expected to grow, the new company is the result of Mitsubishi Electric’s global strategy for increased localization in its European air conditioning and refrigeration systems business. The new plant is expected to employ 400 people by 2020.
The Japanese manufacturer established a subsidiary Mitsubishi Electric Turkey AŞ in Istanbul in January 2014, the company acquiring its Turkish air conditioning distributor, Klima Plus in the same year.
