ACREX India 2016: A Strong Focus on “Make in India”

ACREX India 2015 was inaugurated by high profile ISHRAE delegates with great enthusiasm. Organized by the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) and produced by NuernbergMesse India Pvt Ltd, the mega event is being conducted at India’s financial capital— Mumbai—at the at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC). The Exhibition features diverse building engineering services that include fire & safety, electrical & plumbing services building automation and the ever growing cold chain industry. Hence, the theme of ACREX India 2016 ‘Make in India – Infinite opportunity for HVAC&R Industries’ has a globally appealing attitude for showcasing India’s capabilities. The organizers expect a record number of 30,000 trade visitors and 500 companies that exhibit their products and services on a display area of more than 30,000 square metres. With the participation of major global companies and country pavilions for China, Germany, USA, Korea, and first-time Turkey, ACREX India offers a 360-degree view on worldwide trends in building design.

Curtain Raiser

Apart from this, the event also organized a curtain raiser for the exhibition. At this event, a panel discussion was held on ‘Importance of Design and Architecture for Sustainability, Big Savings and Performance in the Long Run.’ The panelists included Arun Bhatia, Managing Director, UTC – Climate, Controls & Security; Anuj Agarwal, Head, Infrastructure Management & Services Group, ICICI Bank Ltd; Rajan Rawal, Executive Director, Centre for Advanced Research in Building Science & Energy; T David Underwood, President, ASHRAE, P.Eng., Fellow ASHRAE, Life Member, CPMP, resides in Oakville, Ontario, Canada; PRP Ramakrishnan, Area Director of Engineering – South Asia, Marriot International; Pankaj Dharkar, Managing Director, Pankaj Dharkar Associates. The session emphasized on the several ways technology is going to influence the building construction industry in the future. It also focused on finding out innovative ways of carrying out business in the most efficient manner. The panelists also shared their thoughts that the industry has to work in tandem in order to ensure timely delivery of projects. This energetic session was succeeded by an award ceremony wherein people associated with ISHRAE were awarded for their dedication and hard work.
