SWEP’s new B35TDW brazed plate heat exchanger (BPHE) delivers a step change in capacity for double-wall BPHE technology.
Safety is critical in many applications in food & beverage and pharmaceutical production, and in heat recovery from sources such as oils, gases, and compressed air in other industrial processes. Until now, gasket plate and frame double-wall heat exchangers or shell & tube heat exchangers have been the only option on the market.
SWEP, a leader within brazed plate heat exchangers (BPHEs), has now launched the new B35TDW model. Unique on the market, the B35TDW is a step change as it offers higher capacities (up to 58 m3/h) by combining the brazed plate heat exchanger with the double-wall technology.
“SWEP’s high-quality BPHEs already have the advantages of compactness and modularity plus very high thermal performance and safety,” commented Nathan Thomson, Industrial Sales Manager at SWEP. “Double-wall technology further enhances safety by ensuring that liquids in the BPHE cannot mix and any internal leaks are easily detectable. In SWEP’s latest advance, its new B35TDW offers these features in a higher capacity range.”
SWEP has total control over the unique manufacturing process for its double-wall products. Quality and safety are high priorities at the company, with every unit individually pressure- and leak-tested for safe operation and long lifespan.

About brazed plate heat exchangers
A brazed plate heat exchanger consists of corrugated plates, combined to create complex channels through which a hot medium and a cold medium can be distributed. The media flow in separate circuits but come into close proximity, allowing heat to be transferred from one to the other with very high efficiency. The number, type, and configuration of the cover plates can be varied to achieve the required thermal properties.
