Thanks to their unique properties, open and closed cell foams based on Bakelite® phenolic resole resins are suitable for a wide array of applications. For the foam manufacturer, our resins offer controlled cell structures, controlled exotherm rates and optimized mechanical properties. Resulting products have been proven durable, with excellent FST properties and substantial resistance to chemical attack. The Bakelite® family of products for foam include Bakelite® and Cellobond™ phenolic resins and the related Phencat™ hardeners, for continuous and block manufacturing in thermal insulation, floral, mining and orthopedic applications.
